How to Use the Age Calculator
Enter your date of birth, choose the date you want your age calculated on, then select Calculate Age. Zelmric returns completed years, months and remaining days, along with useful totals such as weeks and days.
How Exact Age Is Calculated
An exact calendar age is different from simply dividing the number of days lived by 365. Calendar months have different lengths and leap years contain an extra day. The calculator first counts complete years, then complete months, then the remaining calendar days.
Age Calculator Example
Suppose a person was born on January 15, 1990. When a later calculation date is selected, Zelmric counts each completed birthday first, then the completed months since the last birthday milestone, and finally the remaining days.
Age in Days, Weeks and Months
The main result is expressed as calendar years, months and days. Total days and weeks are also useful for comparisons, milestones and records, but they should not be treated as substitutes for calendar age.
Leap Years and Birthdays
Leap years are handled using real calendar dates. A February 29 birth date is valid only in leap years, while the exact handling of a February 29 birthday in a non-leap year can depend on the context in which the age is being used.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate my exact age?
Use your date of birth and a calculation date. Exact age is the completed years, months and days between those calendar dates.
Can I calculate my age on a past date?
Yes. Set Calculate Age On to the historical date you want to check.
Does the calculator account for leap years?
Yes. Calculations use actual calendar dates rather than assuming every year has 365 days.
Is my birth date saved?
No account is required, and the calculator is designed to process the calculation in your browser.
